Le marché central de Santiago du Chili occupe une œuvre architecturale en fonte. Il a été inauguré en 1872, sous la présidence de Federico Errázuriz Zañartu.
La structure de fer a été coulée à Glasgow, en Écosse. En 1868, la construction fut commencée par l'architecte chilien Fermín Vivaceta. Manuel Aldunate a conçu le projet de structure en maçonnerie.
Il est situé sur la rue Ismael Valdés Vergara 900 à Santiago.
Aujourd'hui, c'est un lieu reconnu pour sa cuisine exquise, où il est réputé pour préserver les recettes ancestrales créoles et faire partie du patrimoine national. Monument historique, visité par les touristes, les étrangers et les ressortissants.
